Moreover, he is supervising several Master’s and PhD students' research works; todate over 28 Master’s and 4 PhD candidates have graduated with Master’s and PhD degrees, respectively. Prof Kaijage is a reviewer of numerous international scientific journals, including IEEE, IET, etc. Prof Kaijage has been invited and attended several technical and international talks.
Shubi is experienced in serving the boards in different capacities; he is serving as a chairman of the Board of Directors for the Government-owned company, the Tanzania Geothermal Development Company (TGDC). Also, he is serving as a member of the board of the Faculty of Business and Information Science (FBIS) at the Moshi Cooperative University of Moshi (MoCU). Moreover, he is a member of the Regional Research and Development Working Group (Research Communication Sub-Committee) for the East African Science and Technology Commission (EASTECO). Previously, for over 5 years, Shubi has served on the board of the school of CoCSE’s at the NM-AIST, a member of the Senate at the NM-AIST, and other numerous statutory committees within NM-AIST. Moreover, Shubi has served and still serves in different taskforces within the institution and outside in making several policies and in committees for different tasks, e.g. International Conferences, etc.
His area of specialization and research interests are in Optical fibers and photonic crystal fibers (PCFs), Fiber Optics Communication, Fiber to the home (FTTH), Terahertz wave technology, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Internet of Things (IoT), and Wireless Sensor Networks. Also includes the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Electronics and Information systems in the areas of the e-health management system, conservation and protection of natural resources, climate change, livestock & sustainable agriculture, food security and sustainability, etc.
In addition, since, 2011, for over two years worked as a Postdoctoral Research Associate in China and worked as a Research Assistant (RA) for about three (3) years during his PhD studies at the University of the Ryukyus, Japan. With over 80 scientific publications and over 50 conference presentations, he has earned numerous international scholarly awards as recognition of his scholarly works.
