The NM-AIST has been recruiting international students across Africa in Masters and PhD degree programmes to pursue various areas of specializations.

Foreign Students can now apply for Visa/student pass Online by visiting the Immigration service portal. You are required to fill in the online form, make payment, and submit your application online. Your form will be internally reviewed and processed.

Applicants are notified through their e-mails whether their applications have been accepted or rejected. You may also TRACK your application status through the online system. An applicant may as well be required to visit the nearest Tanzanian Embassy or Consular Office for interviews.

General Requirements for Students Visa:

  1. Valid Passport copy
  2. Scanned Passport size photo
  3. Admission letter
  4. Evidence of sponsorship/scholarship
  5. An introductory letter from NM-AIST (Can be obtained through International office To inquire email: (international.office@nm-aist.ac.tz /admission@nm-aist.ac.tz)
  6. Dully filled-in Visa online application form
  7. Visa fee (250 USD)

Note: payment is for students from non EAC Countries.

Every foreign student is required by the Government of Tanzania to obtain a Student Visa/Permit for Class “C”. ICAU will assist students in obtaining Student Permits at the beginning of the academic year/semester.

Note: Students from the EAC Member States are issued with Exemption Certificates. No fee is paid for the Exemption Certificate, application to be done online here.

The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) must authenticate the academic levels or equivalence of the qualifications obtained from foreign Institutions before being registered for studies at NM-AIST. You are, therefore, advised to start the process of applying for TCU authentication of your certificates and transcripts for degrees or diplomas at least two (2) months before reporting to avoid any delays in registration for your studies at NM-AIST.

The International Office coordinates bridge year and international short courses in obtaining the necessary academic, employability, and technical skills through three required components—contextualized instruction, career development, and support services.
