Bonny Saidi Mgawe (PhD) received both a bachelor's and a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering option Telecommunication from Abou Bekr Belkaid University, Algeria. He subsequently spent two years as a data center engineer at Millicom Tanzania (Tigo) before enrolling in doctoral studies at Pan Africa University Institute of Science and Technology. In 2019, he received his doctorate in Electrical Engineering option Telecommunication specializing in signal processing and wireless technologies. He worked for FIFA as an IT officer at the 2018 World cup in Russia. He worked at St. Augustine University of Tanzania (SAUT) as a lecturer serving on the faculty of Engineering, Department of Electrical Engineering. He is now a lecturer at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) and a Certified Telecommunication Engineer with level 3 responsibility and registration number P0656-RFC. His previous project, done in collaboration with King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (Thailand), involved designing and developing a device that could measure soil health using antennas, with the goal of assisting small-scale farmers who farm in practice to begin modernizing and increasing crop production without having to go to agricultural laboratories, which are very expensive. His research interests include artificial intelligence, signal processing, and wireless sensors.
