Experience & Activities

Devotha G. Nyambo is well-versed systems analyst and lecturer consistently working on data-driven models and platforms. She has a PhD in Information and Communication Science and Engineering of the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST). Devotha has previously worked on dairy farming systems for cluster-based modelling of requirements for more milk. Among other current activities, she is actively working on data-driven solutions for advancements of health systems, farming and education. As an AWARD fellow [African Women in Agricultural Research and Development] Devotha has engaged in research that benefits East Africans for over eight years with a track record of winning grants and scholarships such as; scholarship from the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS), from the Government of Tanzania through Tanzania Commission for Science and Technology, African Development Bank through NM-AIST, AWARD, Deep Learning Indaba, Women in Machine Learning, Queen Elizabeth Scholarship - Advanced scholars program and Grace Hopper Celebrations for Women in Computing.
Devotha leads the Agriculture and Environmental Conservation Thematic area in the AI4D Anglophone Multidisciplinary Research Lab and the Artificial Intelligence and Complexity Sciences research group at the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology. Devotha also works as a consultant where she has successfully engaged with the African Union – InterAfrican Bereau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) as a paperless data collection tools developer, USOMI Limited as a data manager and field technical support, Southern Agricultural Growth Corridor of Tanzania (SAGCOT Centre Limited) as a system analyst and Agri Réseaux International (ARI) and AgThrive as a data manager and system analyst
