Experience & Activities

Dr. Mussa Ally Dida is the Dean of the School of Computational and Communication Sciences and Engineering (CoCSE) at Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST), A Senior Lecturer at School of CoCSE.

Dr. Dida has a PhD in Information and Communication Systems Engineering from Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), China attained in June 2017, a Master’s of Science in Telecommunications Engineering from University of Dodoma obtained in July 2011, and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering and Information technology form University of Dar-es-Salaam obtained in June 2008.

Dr. Dida has successfully supervised/ co-supervised 22 Masters students and 5 PhD students to graduation and he is currently supervising more than 10 masters and 5 PhD students. He has published more than 50 papers in highly reputable journals. His research interests are in the areas of wireless communication systems, embedded systems, Cyber Security and IT systems development. Currently he is working on the development of farmers’ extension support system and farmer’s logistic system.

His other responsibilities are: Deputy Centre Leader of the Centre of Excellence for ICT in East Africa (CENIT@EA) which is hosted by CoCSE; In Country In Region DAAD Scholarship coordinator; Assisting Project Coordinator for Partnership for skills in Applied Sciences, and Engineering and Technology Regional Scholarship Innovation Fund (PASET RSIF) project at NM-AIST. He is a board member of NM-AIST SENATE, NM-AIST Quality Assurance Board. He is also an external examination to different universities including Johannesburg University, University of Dar es Salaam, University of Dodoma, Moshi Co-Operative University, and Mwenge Catholic University. He has participated in a number of Task force(s) including Task force for Intellectual Property review of NM-AIST and that of review or development of curricula.
